Creative Market

Whilst this website isn’t technically a tool – it’s a really useful place for creatives to find bits for their projects. Creative Market has a huge range of items for sale including fonts, graphics and photos. The great thing is they are really reasonably priced – and the seller sees a good portion of the earnings too. Be sure to sign up to their newsletter so you get notified about the weekly freebies they offer (I love these!).

Wave

If you work with a lot of clients or perhaps manage recurring monthly payments, you might find it a struggle keeping track of all your invoices.

This is where Wave comes to the rescue! Wave is an online app which allows you to:

  • Quickly create¬†invoices
  • Generate recurring invoices
  • Send invoices automatically¬†to your clients
  • Receive payments online
  • Send reminders if a payment is not received.

There’s also the added bonus of linking up your bank account and using the app for your accounting too. Wow, what more could you want?

Trello

Whether you are a graphic designer, developer or blogger – if you like making lists or organising things you will love Trello. Using it’s drag and drop interface, you can easily create boards, make lists, colour code them and invite other people to collaborate with you.

“Drop the lengthy email threads, out-of-date spreadsheets, no-longer-so-sticky notes, and clunky software for managing your projects. Trello lets you see everything about your project in a single glance.” – Trello

Invision

If you do any form of design work, I would be amazed if you have already stumbled upon Invision. Invision is a great tool which allows you to upload image, protypes and much more to give your clients a visual display of what you’re working on.

Clients or colleagues can click on the images and create hotspots where they can comment and leave feedback. Actioned their feedback? Great, you can mark the comment as resolved and another job done!

Adobe Stock

If you’re a creative, you will most likely need some images for your project at some point. Whether you are looking for some placeholder images or in search of a high resolution feature image – you can find it on Adobe Stock. It also integrates into Photoshop so you can use the images easily. To use this service, you do have to subscribe. Looking for something free? Try Pexels instead.

Coolors

Looking for a colour scheme but feeling uninspired? Check out Coolors – you have millions of different colour schemes waiting for you all at the click of a button. You can choose to have a complete new set of colours, or lock one that you like and find suitable matches. Best of all, it’s completely free!
